zeta semi formal

This past weekend I had my junior semi formal. While my friends & I were only at the actual semi formal for about twenty minutes, I had the greatest time. I don't know what it is about getting dressed up but it always makes for a memorable night. I have to say, my favorite picture of the night was with Cam Gigandet. That's right. the guy that killed Marissa on the OC. The fourteen year old girl in me was too excited. Hope y'all are having a great week!

texas is for lovers

This past weekend was the wedding of my cousin Stephanie and her long time boyfriend/now hubby Matt. We had a few bumps in the road (humidity making her hair fall, we got the bride to the ceremony a bit late, etc.) but bumps aside, it was the most beautiful weekend. There wasn't a dry eye in the extravagant chapel in Waco, Texas. Steph is the first of my cousins on my mom's side to get married so it was a really special weekend. Getting to spend time with my entire family and enjoying some great food wasn't to bad either.

charleston farmers market

From dried barley to freshly made pasta, the Charleston farmers market is full of little surprises. I make it a point in my week to visit, even if it's just to walk through. I love to stop & grab a Beach Bum smoothie from the Juice Joint and take a look around at the various vendors. If you don't live in the Charleston area, look up the closest farmers market sometime. You won't be disappointed.

red velvet swirl brownies

Everyone knows that calories don't count during the holidays. (my favorite question during this time of year is: what did you get for insert holiday here? Fat. I got fat.) I consider Halloween as one of these semi-worry free times. I find myself constantly giving in to temptation. And these red velvet swirl brownies are no exception. I made a batch this past week and they're absolutely to die for. Or get a little fat for.
